Apple’s *Steve Jobs* Returning

Posted by: hitechgurli on: June 20, 2009

The headlines read  “Apples’s CEO Jobs received liver transplant.”   Disappointing headlines today as they target his illness for his absence.

Steve Jobs  is quite possibly the most know person in the technology field besides Microsoft’s Bill Gates.  When having that notoriety your personal life is also in the spotlight. Knowingly that Steve Jobs had some problems with pancreatic cancer before was definitely a key to his illness this time around. When announced he would take a leave of absence, it was speculated there was an underlying pre-existing  or a re-occurring problem with his cancer. Which may be the truth, however; has not been stated as of yet…just speculated.

The headlines focus in on something we already knew….. the details to his leave of absence is private and serves as no purpose in his return to Apple. If he had wanted that known, he would have had a press conference and told the world. Obviously , he didn’t want the focus on himself. And now to the gracious manner in which the world receives its information… we have a possible reason for his absence.

My focus with Steve Jobs is that he is back at the helm of his buisiness and doing what he does best.  We do not know what role he will play in returning, whether it will be CEO or simply just blend in where they need him. Regardless, he will back and in charge….. colaberating  and engineering new ideas.

Not having the name “Jobs”  spotlighted every now and then, nor having him there on hand to initiate a new product introduction is not what we in the technical world is use to. I will equate it to Microsoft…. Bill Gates, It is not the same since he has moved out of the spotlight and onto other things in life.  I am no longer as interested in Microsofts developement projects. Knowing he was there and in the challenging role he played, kept me innovative and creatively challenged.

I have grown up knowing these product lines and the people who make them.  I don’t move on as well as some do. I like *original products*…. original people in charge!  Duplicate copies, Generic Meds, Music rewrites, ect….. are not acceptable to me. I am not saying they are not ok to use, play, purchase…… just that the *ORIGINAL* is better!

Understanding things happen and have to change from time to time, is normal in life and we have to accept and move on.  For today, the article has said Jobs will be back soon as anticipated. He will be welcomed with open arms from the world who knows him. I am waiting patiently and will be delighted to see him back.

Steve Jobs has brought a vast variety of notoriety, knowledge, expertice  and power into the world of technology today.

A word of thanks to all the people who work together at APPLE  for continuing with progress and bringing to the public the best products in the market.  At this time there isn’t anything close to duplicating  the tools of the trade in Apples workcart! Keep it that way please.

Welcome Back Mr. Jobs!

“TWITTER” ….. What exactly is it ?

Posted by: hitechgurli on: June 18, 2009

When  ” Twitter ” was just another internet site, the only way you knew about it was by running across a link somewhere in your searching. At that time I was a member.  Seems like another century ago.  For the past 10-15 years the Internet has grown largely having sites like Yahoo…. AOl…. Hotmail ….. and Microsoft everything! There were a few search engines that enabled us to find the whereabouts of what it was we were looking for.

Now…. we have more than several search engines and mega websites! Yahoo, Hotmail, and AOL have lost most all their power. Greatness goes to such sites as GoogleYOUtube , MySpace, Facebook, Ebay, Amazon, Apple, Itunes, and now Twitter.  I have no data nor have I seen a pie chart on the percentages each one of these ambitious companies share in leading the traffic on the internet.

I do know Twitter is  “everywhere” from visual effects , news broadcasts, newspapers, social media top plug, to movie stars, corp ex,  space travel…..and even this past few days, Twitter was asked not to shut down for maintenence as Twitter was used  as a communication tool in the Iran Election. Please read the twitter feed #iranelection.

Now that I have forced myself to use Twitter on a daily basis it is becoming addictive! Ohhhhhh how I hate that! I find myself turning on the computer just to read the posts of all that I follow. I use my cell phone to send quick post for updates from the drs office, in the car, eating out….anywhere it is possible. I have Tweetdeck and Seesmic on my desktop and several applications on my phone. ADDICT ! Not that I don’t have anything else to do. I have realized if you really want to know something…..Twitter will know!!!!!! No where else on the web will you have access to so much knowledge, information, and access to exactly where your answer is. In fact , many times the source is right there ….. live ….. in person.

For those of you who have yet to encounter this HUGE galaxy of people, the journey is a challenge! You sign up , invite your personal friends, search for those out there you may know, and some suggested friends twitter offers for everyone that joins. You then post tweets of 140 words or less (punctuation,@$*# included ). You may follow & add as many people as you like so long as your ratio of people stay balanced by You soon notice that you are talking to yourself as no one is replying. On occassion, there will be a thank you for following an individual you clicked on to add to your profile of people to follow.

If you get luckey, perhaps there will be an abundance of people for you to interact with . For me, this has not happened. I have a few that will comment, however; not often. And for those I really want to talk to will never even see my post if I send one to them…. why? Answer…. they have to follow me back. It is also possible that if they do follow you back and their follwing is large #’s….. your post may have cycled the screen before they saw it.

Confusing ….. YES!  It gets worse.  There is a focus on #’s in this new community of Twitterville. To make it big, you need to do things to raise your status around the hotspot. Retweeting is a suggested way to increase your count as well as #followfriday, bubbletweet and more.

There is a huge list of names of people that belong to Twitter. One is ExecTweets, movie stars, web media and more…. We Follow

I will let you check that out when you get there! There are more pages for help about Twitter and it’s third party sites that bare Twitter’s name than there is for anything else I have seen on the internet….and I have seen a few!

Twitter does have it’s own set of instructions , rules and help directly on the site.

Please go on over to TWITTER …. join, stay awhile….you might like it once you learn  how to use all of it’s features that have really no explanation.

Social Networking

Posted by: hitechgurli on: April 23, 2009

Just happened upon an article of yet another “change of guard” so to speak.   MySpace  Co_Founder  Chris Dewolfe is relinquishing his CEO title. He & Tom Anderson (Co-Founder)  will both be taking on different roles within MySpace.

Facebook

( another Social Networking site ) has grown to over 200 million users . MySpace just needs to pick it up a little. They still have more to offer in the line of music, backgrounds and has a different climate for users.  It really doesn’t matter…if you are networking you are going to ALL places or you have your favorites.  What makes it different to the developers is they want the #’s topping the chart!

I also heard a little chatter that YouTube & My Space were going to add a little embellishments….but they come with a small price …..mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, as they all do!

In the last few weeks changing leaders, corporate heads, financial structures and reorganizing everything from “what is to be deducted on your taxes ” to “who is who ” at which bank…. has been  more than what USA bargained for!  The only thing US citizens were expecting in 2009 was a New President of the United States of America.  Instead the Walls of Jerico came tumbling down…..Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac started ,Investment Banking & The major Car Dealerships chimed in.

The end is really no where in site to this landfall of American money….. loss of jobs, homes and innocent people who are now punnished with creditors limitting their liabilties. Sounds a little unfair that “WE THE PEOPLE” should be responsible for something we didn’t create.  Not to mention the Bernie Madoff $50 Billion Ponzi Scheme

It seems as the Internet is no different.  Time Warner bought AOL, BeBo bought AOL ? , Yahoo merger with AOL, Yahoo &  Microsoft haggling , Google & YouTube ($1.65 Billion ) , Google & DoublecClick ($3.1.Billion )  and more…please read.

To no surprise YouTube will be making a few changes. Google has not been happy with the performance in marketing since it was purchased  in 2006. It looks as if they will emerge with good revenue soon. Movies, TV Shows,Online Music ideo Venture and Advertising.

And the “BEAT” does go on and on and on……. My thoughts were in reading all these new highlights throughout the WWW……… Marketing Extravaganza   $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I was on Twitter and happened to read that they were also considering a “paid” area.   I slowly had trouble writing my limited amount of words. Just the thought grimised my face. I could feel the wrinkles on my face as I was thinking how to write a complaint. Then I discovered a huge percent of the users on there are Social Networking paid employees as well as companies netwoking themselves! Who would care?

Each networking site wants you to join their community and they say…… for social networking….. NOT Marketing. Now we are adding “purchasing * to their list. Yes… I know it is optional…but , usually you need whatever it is they are selling to enhance your stay there!

And…by the way……  Did we ask for all the brainstorming resulting in $ ?   NO…. most would prefer to surf & play free. GREED is the downfall of all the above …….and is still feasting well.

Ghostwriting

Today, I was reading one of the two newspapers we get as I was indulging in breakfast  ( light )  =)    I normally look at the front page of the local newspaper  then jump over to the  Arkansas Democrat Gazette.

It is a much larger paper with a  Business & Technology section which I love!   Gives me a quick glance at up & coming interests.  Today….. I was a little disappointed. Title of the article was…. Famous often use stand-ins for Web sites ” .   As I was reading  my thoughts  were simply that I knew the obvious ….. sure, The President didn’t  Twitter,  but I was thinking that most all on the Twitter site did their own twittering.  I may be the  only one who considered the possibility each person was real, however; those such as the News  Corespondents, Anchors, Government Reps , President CEO’s , Movie Stars, Musicians have been seen twittering …. and are on Twitters list as  ” who they are*.

Now… before you think I have the concept all are real behind screen names here on the WWW….. NADA !   Absolutely not!  I was hesitant about  ” The Infamous” on Twitter.  I came to the conclusion most were the REAL DEAL.  I actually have seen some post as they were live on TV and then some such as  Ashton & Demi….. Jane Fonda , Al Roker, Ann Curry, Norah Odonnell  and more who  have actually said it is them that twitter.

No one can stay online all day and twitter…but there are other ways  =)   APPLICATIONS  !  Yes…  WOW to the IPhone. It has a few ways to access media content and post.  So who really knows who is on the other side of that twittering ???

I will share my thoughts… I would prefer the REAL PERSON ! Even if it is only a tweet at a time…one a day !  It is that personal contact, closeness, inneraction and trueness of a one to one converstion with that *screen name* holder.  I want them to be the Real Deal !  That Ghostwriter can’t tell me what “aka ???? ” is eating, how they feel, what is next for them, or any *NOW* thing.  Ghostwriting is not appropriate for TWITTER.

What are your thoughts on Ghostwriting for Twitter, My Space, Face Book

Imagine  for a moment…… ” Free Speech “.   Does the Constitution say we have such?   I am wondering these days if we have  ANY  rights.

You would think one could  voice  opinions, thoughts, concerns as they pleased. …… at least on the  WWW !  Apparently not.

TWITTER  &  MY SPACE  are in the middle of  an unfriendly tiff …. read   http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/270089
